Woman Shot Dead In Burlington Ontario, Man Now In Custody

On Wednesday August 21, 2019, a woman was shot dead at a home in Burlington Ontario.

Halton Regional Police say the death of the woman is being investigated as a homicide.

They were called to a home on No. 2 Side Road in Burlington between Cedar Springs Road and Guelph Line just before 3 p.m. EST.

When they arrived they found a woman that sustained traumatic injuries and whom was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man at the scene was initially questioned and subsequently taken into custody.

It is believed the man that was arrested, and the victim knew to each other.

Police are advising the public that there is no immediate threat to public safety.

There is still a heavy police presence on the scene and in the area, and residents are being asked to avoid the scene as much as possible.
